On the 1st of April, we hosted the EBA Bronze April 2023 Tournament at the Mary Erskine School. The event featured men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. Here’s a summary of the results:
The Women’s Doubles A event was won by Valerie Bui and Emma Gale, who overcame Rachael McDonald and Lynette Pollock with a score of 16-21, 23-21, 13-21. In the Women’s Doubles B category, Zoe Lea and Fiona Simpson took the top spot.
In the Men’s Doubles A category, Blair Tait and Lingyun Xiao secured a win against James Connell and Sam Murray with a final score of 21-17, 22-20. In the Men’s Doubles B event, James Lyall and Saman Tavassoli came out on top against Mark Stephen and Morgan Woodhouse, with scores of 17-21, 21-9, 21-12. Lastly, the Men’s Doubles C category saw Craig Armstrong and Alexandr Makarov defeat Matt Duwell and Anton Maeso 21-11, 21-14.
In the Mixed Doubles A category, Daniel Innes and Joanne Pottinger triumphed over Salim Ben Boudinar and Alison Shearer with a score of 21-19, 21-17. The Mixed Doubles B event saw Stewart Brown and Jennifer Ferguson-Smith defeat Grant Allan and Caz Magill 21-14. In the Mixed Doubles C category, Mahendrran Selvaduray and Puteri Nur Emilia Binte Samian emerged victorious against Steven Duffield and Lydia Divett, with a score of 21-11, 21-14.
